Wyoming Insurance Commissioner Tom Hirsig will be in Sheridan next Thursday morning (Nov. 14) to talk about the federal Affordable Health Care Act – also known as Obamacare – and how area residents can participate.
The presentation will start at 7:30 in the council chambers on the third floor of Sheridan's City Hall. The program is sponsored by the Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce.
In an interview this week, the insurance commissioner said people who do not want to wait until next Thursday can also receive information and assistance in signing up for the program in one of the following ways.
They can call 211 to talk with a community navigator, contact an agent with Blue Cross or Win Health Insurance, or go online to the Wyoming Department of Insurance web site – doi.wyo.gov – and click on the Affordable Health Care Act button. Clicking the button will open a page that includes information on the act, companies in the Wyoming health insurance market as of Oct. 1, and a “frequently asked questions” page.
