If you spend any time trolling videos on the Internet, you might have come across a social phenomenon called “flash mobs.” Basically, a flash mob is when a group of people agree to meet in a public place and simultaneously do something interesting, like dance, hold completely still, or keep asking what time it is. The mobs were designed in 2003 to provide entertainment, satire, and artistic expression. Naturally, the next development was to capitalize on the concept, and that's how “Cash Mobs” were born.
In a cash mob, a group of people get together and agree to show up in a locally-owned business at a designated time and spend a certain amount of money. Sheridan Chamber of Commerce executive director, Dixie Johnson, is working to bring a cash mob to Sheridan.
Sheridan's first cash mob is coming to a local business in September. Stay tuned to Sheridan Media News for mob updates.
