The Center for Rural Affairs is encouraging Wyoming citizens to urge Congress to get to work on a Farm Bill. As 2012 draws to a close, legislators have yet to draw up a new Farm Bill, which means critical funding hangs in the balance. John Crabtree at the CFRA said he would like to see a bill passed soon.
Crabtree also said the best way to light a fire under Congress is for constituents to let them know their expectations.
Crabtree said if no bill is passed, many young farmers and ranchers will be unable to receive government assistance to get an operation started, or will experience a long wait to enroll in economic development programs.
