GILLETTE, (AP) - Campbell County Memorial Hospital has begun construction of a $65 million expansion. Hospital officials held a groundbreaking ceremony Thursday to kick off the project, which is expected to take three years to complete.
The biggest part of the expansion will be the construction of a two-story medical tower where the current parking lot is located. The tower will consolidate the hospital's administrative departments on the ground floor and provide another 137,000 square feet for medical use.
The expansion will also include a 209-space parking garage, a 4,600-square-foot helicopter landing pad and 35,100 square-foot renovation of the existing hospital structure.
