At this week's Buffalo City Council meeting, councilman Russ Humphrey asked Building Inspector Toby Rhoades about a rumor of a possible move of his office from City Hall to the old Clear Creek School building, and asked why he had not sought the council's approval to do so.
Rhoades told him he has been checking on the possibility with the joint powers board but was waiting to approach the council once it was determined it was feasible.
The agreement would likely be a trade-out for services rendered by Rhoades to pay rent for the new office.
No action was taken on the matter.
Rhoades reported there were no new housing starts in the last month.
He has sent out 195 Contractor License Renewals that need to be returned by January 1st, and so far has received 12.
Some roofing is being performed in the city and there are three homes under construction.
He also said he has been filling in, performing some planning duties while new City Planner Lynn Barrett was being hired and moving to Buffalo. He said he was relieved to have her on board.
