The Second Annual Art Chalk Festival will be July 20th and 21st in Buffalo, and the call is going out to artists and potential sponsors to help make the event a bigger and better success this year.
The Buffalo Downtown Association hosted last year's event, which brought local, regional and national artists to Buffalo's downtown to decorate the sidewalks and streets with phenominal temporary artworks.
This year the event is co-sponsored by the BDA and the Johnson County Arts and Humanities Council, and new this year will be awards of First, Second and Third Place as well as a People's Choice Award for registered participants.
Marie Verger, Director of the BDA, said the festival was brought back due to the success of last year's festival and at the request of those in the community.
She tells us more about this year's festival.
The educational workshops to learn how to create chalk art will be Friday, July 20th and the actual chalking festival will be Saturday, July 21st.
For more information, to sign up as an artist, or for corporate sponsorships, contact Marie Verger at (307) 620-2244.
