The third annual Longmire Days celebration in Buffalo that gets underway this weekend has grown from a local one-day event featuring the Longmire series author Craig Johnson to a larger two-day event with cast members of the show based on the books.
Now, after garnering nationwide attention, organizers expect this year's three-day event to bring in double the crowd, from 5,000 to 10,000 fans.
The weekend of events kicks off Friday morning with an autograph session at the former Clear Creek School building from 9 to noon, then an Indian pow wow from 11-5 in Crazy Woman Square. Afternoon events include a screening of the show from noon to 5 at the Buffalo Theater, a skeet shoot from 1:30-5 at the HF Bar Ranch and a golf outing from 2-6 at the Buffalo Golf Club. Registration is required for the skeet shoot, through the Chamber of Commerce.
The finale of the first day will be a street dance with the local band, “Gunshy,” providing the music. The dance runs runs from 7-11 in downtown Buffalo.
