Last week, students from Buffalo High School volunteered in numerous ways to raise money and food donationas for the Bread of Life Food Pantry in Buffalo.
This past Friday, their hard work paid off for over 112 people that showed up for help to carry them through the Christmas Holiday.
John Whitney and Linda Greet, both members of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Buffalo, were volunteering at the food pantry Friday afternoon, and they said quite a number of individuals and families came through the door.
Whitney and Greet both said the food pantry has seen an increase in the numbers that relay on them, even an increase from Thanksgiving to now.
As well as the more than $1,000 in cash and all the non-perishable food items raised by BHS, the Veteran's Home of Wyoming also donated $450 from staff and residents.
With the numbers of community members in need of a hand, those donations do not last long, and the food pantry is in constant need of donations.
For those that wish to donate, the pantry is open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from noon to 1 and 5 to 6pm. They can also be contacted by phone at 684-7529.
