The newest member of the Buffalo downtown business district is the Clear Creek Brewing Co., which officially opened in conjunction with this past weekend's Oktoberfest celebration.
Owners Rob McCorkle, Chris Jones and Mike Engling started off as friends with a common love of home brewing, entering their creations in area brew contests including the last two Buffalo Oktoberfests, and eventually decided to open their own brew pub to showcase their creations.
The building is modeled after neighborhood brew pubs in Portland, Oregon, long regarded as one city with some of the best brew pubs, and the atmosphere is homey, welcoming and friendly.
They plan to offer as many different types of beers as they can and to add seasonal beers and other “experiements” when they can. That's part of the fun is trying something new.
They tell us more about their short and long-term goals and plans.
They are currently offering a pale, a wheat, and an India Pale Ale.
Their hours are from noon to 10pm Thursday through Sunday.
