Buffalo Hosts Annual Vespers Program

Buffalo Hosts Annual Vespers Program

One of Buffalo's favorite holiday traditions will be presented by area musicians and singers this weekend at the Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Buffalo.

The annual Christmas Vesper's Program, this year entitled “And All Our Sweetest Music Bring,” will be performed Sunday afternoon.
Vespers, quite simply, is the name given to evening services in many western religions, and this program will feature area groups and individuals from most churches and area schools and elsewhere, performing vocal and instrumental traditional hymns, carols and not-so-traditional music to celebrate the season.

Donna Strickland, President of the Buffalo Music Study Club, who is sponsoring the event, tells us some of who will be
performing.

The program will begin at 4pm Sunday, with a musical prelude starting at 3:30 to welcome those attending. The program is free to attend, but there will be a free-will offering accepted for scholarships for the young musicians with the Music Study Club.

Strickland explains more about how the money is used through the
scholarships.

The LDS Church is located at 470 W. Munkres in Buffalo and all are welcome to attend.
