At their meeting Tuesday evening the Buffalo City Council got a request from Mike Quast of the Johnson County Family YMCA for just over $17,000 to replace aging lighting in the gymnasium and pool areas of the city-owned building.
Quast said they had received an estimate on the replacement of the lighting and it had come in at $17,310 which was the amount they were requesting from the council.
Quast explained more about the problem.
They are looking to replace the lights with LED-type high-efficiency lighting in both areas of the facility.
Mayor Randy Dyess asked Quast to have bids done on the project so the city had a concrete number on which to make a decision.
Quast will have the the bids done and bring them back before the council at their next meeting February 19th.
