The annual Christmas Kids' Shop will be at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Buffalo

The Christmas season officially begins this weekend in Buffalo with a number of events culminating in Saturday night's Lighted Christmas Parade. Sheridan Media News Director for Johnson County, Aaron Palmer, has the details.

We will be previewing all the happenings this week starting today with the 14th annual Christmas Kids' Shop. The Kids' Shop  will be held Saturday, December 4th and again Saturday, December 11th at St. Luke's Lutheran Church.

Buffalo's children have the opportunity to shop (for free) for their loved ones, whether mom or dad, grandparents or their siblings and have their gifts wrapped by volunteers. The volunteers also help the children find the perfect present as mom and dad enjoy refreshments while the kids do their shopping. Everything from puzzles to games to candles and other useful items are available, so the kids can find something for everyone they need to shop for.

The community donates both new and used items for the kids to choose from and the annual event has become a well-loved tradition in Buffalo. The Christmas Kids' Shop starts both days at 9am and continues into the afternoon.

For more information or to make donations, call organizer Julia Bettinger at 760-8909.
