The first of what now looks to be an annual event, the Buffalo Swim Club's Triathlon, took place Saturday and organizer Tim Cahhal called it a great success.
Although most of the funds from this year's triathlon went to getting it up and running, Cahhal said he sees this as a possible fundraiser for the swim club in the future. The club, he said, has a lot of athletes participating in the winter, but few in the summer, and the idea is to eventually raise funds for a summer league.
The triathlon consisted of three “legs,” a swim, a bike ride and a run of different lengths depending on age of the participant.
Cahhal said the triathlon was something the club will definitely do again.
