Sheridan made the very first list; now it's Buffalo's turn. Here's Aaron Palmer with the story.
Buffalo has been chosen as a Top-10 Western Town in a national publication, according to Buffalo Chamber of Commerce Assistant Director Rachel McCaughey.
McCaughey said this Top-10 list is the same one that other Wyoming towns such as Sheridan and Cody have made in the past, although this is Buffalo's first time making the list.
McCaughey said that people come to visit Buffalo for the “Old West Town” experience; being named to True West Magazine's list can be a boon to the local tourist industry.
The Top-10 list for 2011 includes at (10), Llano, Texas; (9) Virginia City, Nevada; (8) Dodge City, Kansas; (7) Buffalo, Wyoming; (6) The Dalles, Oregon; (5) Durango, Colorado; (4) Coulterville, California; (3) Prescott, Arizona; (2) Dubois, Wyoming; and (1) Pendleton, Oregon.
True West Magazine's January/February issue goes on sale January 4, 2011.
