At the last city council meeting, City/County Engineer Wayne Hill gave his report and was then asked by Mayor Randy Dyess to collect his logs of hours worked and for which entity and have them ready for an upcoming meeting with the Johnson County Commissioners.
Hill was hired as a joint engineer to work for both the city and county for a year with the plan to then review the position after that year to see if he will continue to be funded by both entities or hired by one or the other.
His logs and time sheets will be used in the decision.
Discussions are expected to begin at next week's county commission meeting.
Hill will also be putting out requests for proposals for the improvement project on Burritt Street to take the “crown” off the roadway on old High School Hill and for the annual contracts for storm drain, sewer, water, paving, milling and concrete flat work.
Hill reported to the city council that he has completed 70% of GIS/Mapping of the city and continues to work on renovations at the historic courthouse.
