A film crew from the TV network Destination America is in Buffalo this week to film at the Occidental and possibly other locations for a new show called “Ghost Town Gold,” which will debut on the network in 2013.
The show delves into the rich history of the locations they feature, highlighting the known history of the area and also attempting to find hidden or forgotten historical artifacts or treasures-the “gold” that may have been there all along, according to Rachel McCaughey of the Buffalo Chamber of Commerce.
She explains more about what's going on.
The crew filmed on Monday and will continue on Tuesday and possibly tour other areas of Buffalo and Johnson County on Tuesday as well, McCaughey said.
The new “Ghost Town Gold” show will debut in January of 2013 on the Destination America Network. The episode featuring Buffalo will be the fifth of the series, according to McCaughey.
