Buffalo's Bread of Life Food Pantry is constantly in need of donations, but this time of year there seems to be more of a need, and also a need for their Thanksgiving Dinner Drive.
That's according to Nancy Lick, who volunteers at the food pantry.
She said the Holiday dinners are not part of the food pantry's regularly-stocked items, but every year they try to make sure the families they serve get a good, traditional meal for Thanksgiving.
Donations for the Thanksgiving drive are $28 per family, and that provides a turkey, stuffing mix, gravy, corn bread mix, instant potatoes, a box of Jell-O, cranberry sauce and choice of apple or pumpkin pie and frozen topping, as well as canned fruit from the pantry.
Reese and Ray's IGA is helping support the program, and each family will receive vouchers to shop for the items there.
Lick said the need for regular food pantry items is always there as well, and she explains.
All donations are gladly accepted by the food pantry, Lick said, and all will be put to good use.
For those that would like to donate for the Thanksgiving dinners or for the Bread of Life Food Pantry in general, a check for $28 should be sent to the Bread of Life Food Pantry, P.O. Box 909, Buffalo, Wyoming 82834. Please note “Thanksgiving Dinner” on the memo line.
Checks and any other donations can be dropped off at the food pantry behind St. Luke's Episcopal Church on South Main Street Mondays, Wednesday, and Fridays from noon to 1pm and again from 5 to 6pm.
