Buffalo Council OKs $13.9 Million Budget On Second Reading

At their meeting June 5th, the Buffalo City Council approved on second reading Ordinance No. 1357, the Annual Appropriation Bill in the amount of $13,883,607.

The appropriation is for FY 2013 from July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2013.

Mayor Randy Dyess explained changes made in the Ordinance from the first to the second reading.

The largest portion of the budget is Capital Improvements, which the council budgeted $6,480,781 to cover. Other expenditures included law enforcement for $1,227,025; loan repayments of $997,465; and $948,350 for streets.

The council approved the budget on second reading on a vote of 3-1, with councilman Russ Humphrey voting against the Ordinance.

The third reading on the Appropriations Bill will be at the June 19th meeting.
