Buffalo Council Gets Update From Police Department

Buffalo Police Sergeant Garth Nicholas gave the monthly police report to the city council at their meeting Tuesday, discussing the Snap It/Click It program, the extension of the application deadline for a patrol officer and requesting approval to order a new patrol vehicle.

Sgt. Nicholas explains what the Snap It/Click It program is.

The department has also extended the application deadline for the open patrol officer position, he said. Only seven applicants have applied so far, and they would like a larger pool of applicants to choose from. Applications have been received from all over the state, Georgia, South Dakota and California, he said.

Finally, the council approved the department to order a new patrol vehicle from Spradley Motors of Cheyenne for just over $28,000 and also to award the bid for the radios, graphics, lights and other necessities to Wireless Advanced Communications of Casper for just over $13,000.

Delivery of the vehicle will be in August, and will be budgeted from FY2013 one-percent funds.
