The Johnson County One-Percent Committee gave their recommendations for funding of various entities to both the county commissioners and Buffalo City Council during this week's meetings, suggesting the city allocate nearly all of the $500,000 the council earmarked for that purpose.
Bob Snowden, Chairman of the One-Percent Committee, introduced the committee members and then discussed some changes in the procedures this year.
Mayor Mike Johnson explained what the council will now do with those recommendations from the committee.
Funds requested and amounts recommended for the city were:
CAST: requested $75,000 from the city; were recommended to receive $20,000.
Clerk of District Court: $30,000; $30,000.
Kaycee Health Forum: $5,000; not funded.
Buffalo Police Dept.: $50,000; $50,000.
Public Works Dept.: $60,000; $60,000. (Backhoe).
Public Works Dept.: $50,000; $50,000. (Curb & gutter).
Child Development Center: $4,000; $4,000.
Buffalo-JC Recycling Center: $60,000; $60,000.
St. Francis Animal Shelter: $15,000; $10,000.
Buffalo Downtown Assoc.: $25,000; not funded.
Boys and Girls Club: $40,000; $25,000.
Buffalo Senior Center: $35,000; $30,000.
Jo Co YMCA: $$70,184; $30,000.
Buffalo Children's Center: $19,239.76; not funded.
Sheridan College Jo Co: $10,000; $5,000.
Compass Center: $15,000; $15,000.
Buffalo Golf Club: $10,000; $5,000.
Arts Along the Bighorns: $8,000; $4,000.
Worlds of Music: requested $12,440 from the city, but received $6,000 from the county and $3,000 from the city.
Buffalo Chamber of Commerce: $30,000; $20,000.
Family Crisis Center: $4,700; $4,700.
Buffalo Pool Board: $14,000; $9,000.
Justice Center Dispatch Center: requested $71,919.50 each from the city and county; were recommended to receive $32,000 from the city and $112,000 from the county.
