Buffalo Council Considering Dog Park

Priscilla Welles, with the Vision Buffalo Commission, approached the Buffalo City Council at their meeting this week to update them on the VBC's progress on finding a possible home for a proposed dog park in the city.

She said they had identified three possible locations for a park, each with its own pros and cons.
The first is near the old indoor shooting range across from the city pool, and Welles said the location is close to the park and existing parking but may interfere with possible plans the YMCA may have for the building.
The second location is the far west end of Washington Park next to the Klondike Bridge. That location would have ample parking and easy access to the Clear Creek Trail, but would section off a popular portion of the park that is heavily used.
The third option is the section of park on Fetterman Street where the old labyrinth was once located. Welles said parking would be a problem and it would be too far from the trails.

Councilman Dave Long had some questions concerning the proposed park.

Welles suggested Long submit questions and concerns he had about the proposed park that she could take to the VBC for answers and bring back before the council.

No decision on the location for the park had been made.
