Buffalo Council Backs Research Plant in Gillette

The Buffalo City Council approved Resolution No. 1371 at their last meeting, a Resolution recommending support of the Integrated Testing Center, Carbon Capture to be placed in Gillette.

Mayor Randy Dyess explained that when he was at the Legislative session earlier this year, it was discovered that New Mexico was no longer in the running for a proposed carbon capture technology facility.
Governor Mead would like to see the plant located in Wyoming.
Johnson and Campbell County officials are now trying to get the facility located in Campbell County.

The council unanimously passed the Resolution backing the Governor's initiative to locate the world-class research center to develop and test for new uses in carbon capture for coal-based power plants in Wyoming.
