At last week's meeting, the Buffalo City Council approved a request for a sanitation collection permit from Scott Gruntmeir with Bald Mountain Sanitation.
Gruntmeir currently offers sanitation services in the county, but he saw a need for services in the City, in addition to what the City already provides. He explains.
Gruntmeir told the Council he would be collecting mostly construction waste and would not be in direct competition with the City.
Also at the meeting, City Planner Zach Montgomery told the Council the City's One-Percent requests are completed, and the County and other entities would be finishing their lists soon.
The One-Percent Sales Tax Board will have their final meeting Wednesday, March 16th at 4 pm in the Buffalo City Hall. The committee will review projects and then make their recommendations to the City and County for funding.
Montgomery also reported that the city attorney and Vista West Engineering are finalizing the contract on the Brock Street/Safe Routes to School Sidewalk Project. When the agreement is reached, the City will send out a “Notice to Proceed.”
