Buffalo Council Approves Numerous Bids

In addition to approving the request of the Buffalo Senior Center to award a bid for a new roof on the center's building, the Buffalo City Council at last week's meeting, awarded two more bids.

The first bid awarded was for audit services for the city, which went to Tracy Jelly, representing Dooley and Jelly CPAs.

In response to a question from the council, Jelly said the firm has previously performed audit services for Sheridan Area Water Supply, the Town of Ranchester and also the City of Buffalo.

Also awarded was a bid for a blade for the city works department. City works employee Ken Durfee has been working on the bidding process and he told the council two bids meeting the criteria he set were submitted, for a lease and a purchase option on the blade.

The first company's price for their blade was well over $200,000 he said, and he recommended going with the second company's proposal, whether to purchase or lease to purchase, he left to the council to decide.

The council voted to purchase the blade for the price of $146,850 to avoid the interest fee. The purchase will take a budget amendment, according to City Clerk Julie Silbernagel.
