Buffalo City Works Director Les Hook brought a request from O'Dell Construction before the city council for their approval to release the final payment on the the Sports Fields Complex project.
Hook said the request was advertised and the company had a signed lien waiver stating all materials used in the project had been paid for.
The final payment request was for $118,057.48, which was all retainage on the project. Although there is still much to do to complete the sports fields complex, O'Dell had fulfilled their contract at that point.
The council asked Hook where the project now stands, and what the city will need to do to finish the project.
The sports fields complex is located at the old Centennial Park near the Buffalo Senior Center and consists of four baseball/softball fields, a snack shack/restroom building, and an area that can house numerous soccer or football games at once.
