At their meeting Tuesday, Buffalo's City Council approved on third and final reading Ordinance #1357, the appropriation bill, or budget for fiscal year 2013.
The $13.9 miilion budget includes $6.5 million in capital improvements, $948,000 for streets, nearly half a million dollars in miscellaneous equipment and nearly one million dollars for loan repayments.
Local entities such as the YMCA, Boys and Girls Club, the Johnson County Library and others were also funded through the city's budget.
The city's largest expense after capital improvements is law enforcement with an appropriation of $1,227,025 in this year's budget.
The total budget adopted through the Ordinance was $13,883,607. There were no changes to the budget from second to third reading.
Fiscal year 2013 begins July 1 and runs through June 30, 2013.
