Buffalo Council to Address Vacancy

Buffalo's City Council has a light agenda for their Tuesday meeting, with the main topic to be a discussion on how to proceed with filling the vacancy left by councilman Bruce Hepp, who passed away earlier this month.

The council has a number of options to fill the vacancy, and they will try to decide which option to pursue and move forward with the process.

The meeting will get underway at 5 pm in council chambers at Buffalo City Hall.

At their meeting, the Johnson County Commissioners will get an update on the proposed indoor arena at the Johnson County Fairgrounds.

The Subdivision Improvement Agreement between the county and the owner/developer at the Shores at Lake DeSmet Subdivision will be reviewed.

The commissioners will receive reports from the Airport Board, from Kaycee Mayor Tom Knapp on the possibility of them forming their own solid waste district, and the Joint Powers Board and Board of Health will have their quarterly meetings.

The department heads will report as well. That meeting will begin at 9 am at the Johnson County Courthouse.
