About thirty people attended the public meeting presented by the Johnson County School District to showcase the site plan and design of the new 3rd, 4th and 5th grade school that will be built in 2012 and 2013.
Those attending seemed to be in favor of building the school, and understood why a new school was necessary; however, they were concerned enough to suggest that when designing it, the architects and designers listen to the teachers, administrators and others who will be using the building .
Johnson County School Superintendent Dr. Rod Kessler said he thought the meeting went well and that the public is becoming informed about the process.
The next step will be tours in October of Sunset School in Cody, the model for the new Buffalo school. Days of the tours will depend on the numbers that sign up to go. The public is encouraged to call Clear Creek School at 684-0153 to sign up for the tour.
The next public meeting will be Tuesday, November 15th to review the final design of the school. For project updates throughout the design and construction process, go to www.jcsd1.us/newschool.
