At last week's City Council meeting, Buffalo City Planner Zach Montgomery updated them on a number of projects his department is working on or overseeing.

The Vision Buffalo Commission is working to complete the Artist Commissioning Agreement with the artists that will create the murals on both the Hitching Post and Margo's Pottery buildings. New stucco has been applied to the Hitching Post in preparation of work beginning there on June 1st. The Margo's Pottery mural will be completed in 2013.

The Development Review Committee has reviewed the final construction plans for the Crazy Woman Square Project, and has reviewed the Sports Fields Complex Final Construction plans. Reports on the projects will follow.

The 2012 Capital Improvements Plan is finished and is currently being reviewed by the council.

Montgomery explained more about the plan.

The city has filed five grant applications with the Johnson County Recreation Board for a skate park addition, pool chemicals for the outdoor pool, playground equipment for the Greenleaf city park, equipment for the sports fields complex and a part-time seasonal position for the Buffalo Trails Board.
