Buffalo City Council Refunds Tap Fee to County Fair Board

A tap fee charged to the County Fair Board on a sewer tap at the Johnson County Fairgrounds has been refunded after city council action at their meeting Tuesday.
Buffalo Mayor Randy Dyess explained to the council what happened and why the refund was necessary.
According to City Works Director Les Hook, the original tap has been there for a number of years, and the county extended the existing sewer line to encompass the pig wash station, so there was no additional tap installed on the line. Therefore, no new tap fee should have been charged to the Fair Board.
The council voted to refund what was believed to be a $1,500 tap fee to the Johnson County Fair Board.
