Buffalo City Council Discusses Possible Dog Park

The Buffalo City Council, at their last meeting, heard a suggestion from Priscilla Welles with the Vision Buffalo Commission to establish a dog park in the city.

The VBC says there are a number of people in the city that are supportive of one somewhere.

Welles and the VBC have one specific piece of property in mind, which prompted the request from the city council for
consideration.

The VBC's idea is the location would be optimal because it is close to the park and is not being used for any reason.

Welles said the VBC already has volunteers available to perform work, donations for fencing to enclose the park and are now looking for somewhere to put it.

The council had questions about whether it would interfere with sledding in the winter time or with access to the storage building
/old indoor shooting range, which Welles did not believe would be the case.

The council urged Welles and the VBC to continue looking into that site and other possibilities and put together a presentation to bring back before the council for consideration.
