Buffalo City Council Briefs

At their last meeting the Buffalo City council discussed and approved a number of smaller issues.

Ordinance No. 1364, vacating an alley in the Burlington Addition to the City, was approved on third and final reading.

Ordinance No. 1365, which will annex into the city the Madsen Addition was passed on second reading A third and final reading will need to happen before the Ordinance is approved.

Johnson County Emergency Management Co-ordinator Marilyn Connolly presented Mayor Randy Dyess with recognition for becoming NIMS Compliant, and she explains what that means.

Connolly said it is nice to have elected officials with this type of training because in case of an event, “things go smoother” and they understand the system and how it works.

Catering Permits were approved for the Hampton Inn and for the Invasion Bar.

The Mayor read a proclamation urging the citizens of Buffalo to recognize the contributions of disabled veterans by purchase Forget-Me-Nots from the Disabled Amercian Veterans on Saturday, August 3rd. Proceeds will go to help veterans in the Veteran's Hospital in Sheridan and the Veteran's Home in Buffalo.
