Buffalo's Chamber of Commerce hosted their monthly Chamber Luncheon on Wednesday to announce the recipients of this year's awards.
All of this year's winners received a plaque as their award.
The Spirit of Buffalo Award went to Barb Marton, who is always available as a volunteer for community events and happenings.
Volunteer of the Year honors went to two individuals, Olin Turner and Shane Jarvis.
The Rising Star Award was presented to a fairly new local business that is expected to continue to grow and prosper. This year's recipient was Up In Smoke.
The Legacy Award is for a long-standing business in the community that has stood the test of time and been there for the community, and was presented to the Sports Lure.
And the Community Enhancement Award was presented to the business that has done the most to make Buffalo better; that went to North Wyoming Insurance, who purchased an older building on Main Street and renovated and improved it. The award was sponsored by the Bank of Buffalo, and in addition to the plaque, $300 was awarded to the business.
Chamber Director Angela Jarvis said the winners were nominated and voted on by the community. She explains what the awards mean to the recipients.
This is the first in what will become an annual event, Jarvis said.
