Buffalo Chamber of Commerce Director Angela Jarvis recently attended the Rocky Mountain International, or RMI Roundup in Rapid City, S.D. to promote Buffalo and the entire Powder River Country to prospective vacationers from around the world.

Jarvis explains what happens at the roundup.

Jarvis said workers in Europe have anywhere from six to eight weeks of vacation time each year, so when they travel to, for example, the United States, they want they entire experience, from absorbing the culture to the local food and all the history of the area. She said that's what makes Northeast Wyoming such a draw for these travelers. Her goal was to promote the entire region.

According to information gathered from around the community last summer, there were travelers that had come to the region because of information they received from the RMI Roundup.

Jarvis expects to see more and more travelers from this program in the future.

Jarvis said that according to Roundup organizers, it normally takes a year, at least, to see results of their efforts as European travelers book their U.S. itineraries.
