Buffalo learned late last week they have been awarded the 2012 Convention for Rocky Mountain International (RMI)Roundup.
RMI, according to their website, coordinates international tourism activities for the four state tourism departments in Wyoming, South Dakota, Montana and Idaho. It brings travel coordinators from numerous European countries to a central location to showcase travel and vacation opportunities in the region.
Each state hosts the convention on a rotating basis at different locations. This is Buffalo’s first time hosting the event, and they beat out Cheyenne for the privilege of hosting next year’s convention.
60 to 70 people from Europe and more from all four states, the Governor and officials from the State Travel and Tourism Office, over 200 individuals, will converge on Buffalo next spring during the convention.
The RMI Roundup is tentatively scheduled for late April and early May of 2012.
