The second of three budget basics meetings was held by the City of Sheridan Tuesday.
City Clerk Scott Badley and Treasurer Jennifer Reed spoke about the the City's various sources of revenues and funds that make up the City's annual budget.
One source of revenue for the City is the Special Purpose Taxes, such as the Optional 1% Sales Tax and the Capital Facilities tax. Treasure Jennifer Reed explained how the Cap Tax can only be used for infrastructure for capital projects, while the Ooptional One-Cent could be used for general operations.
Both the Cap Tax and Penny Tax are voted on by Sheridan County residents.
The City will host their final budget basics meeting Friday at 1 o'clock in Council Chambers, when Public Works Director Nic Bateson, along with Council President John Bigelow, will be the presenters.
