This is our second in a series of hunting forecasts for Northeastern Wyoming and today we're talking about deer hunting.
Our part of Wyoming is a deer hunting bonanza this year. Warren Mischke, Information Specialist with the Wyoming Game and Fish tells us a wet spring has produced some big bucks.
Most of the nonresident deer licenses have been sold out, but for the locals, licenses can be purchased over the counter and for those folks wanting to fill their freezer, Mischke tells us this is the year to do it.
This last winter did result in the death of some deer, especially fawns, so hunters may see fewer young bucks, but Mischke says this year is a great year to take kids out on their first big game hunt.
The outlook is for some nice trophy bucks to be harvested this fall in the Sheridan region. Tomorrow we'll take a look at the outlook for the elk and moose season.
