The first of two open houses hosted by the Wyoming Department of Transportation regarding the Lewis Street Bridge project in Sheridan was well attended, as a little over 30 people showed up to learn more about the project. The total construction cost of the project is estimated at $4 million. WYDOT Public Involvement Specialist Ronda Holwell talks about how it will be funded.
The Bridge Replacement Off System is a federally funded bridge replacement program to reduce the number of deficient off system bridges. Holwell indicated that they will host a more detailed public meeting next spring.
The project will include a complete replacement of the Lewis Street Bridge and re-alignment of some of the roads that are in the area of the bridge.
