An artists' reception was held Thursday night for those Sheridan High School art students who brought home blue ribbons from the recent Wyoming State High School Art Symposium held in Casper.
Fifteen hundred students displaying over 3000 pieces of work, it was a show featuring only the best of the best in high school art. Sheridan High School art teacher Ginger Morris is pretty proud of her students and gives this description.
She believes art is built into everyone's DNA.
High school senior Savannah Schaffer brought home her blue ribbon with a drawing called “A Splash from the Past” and believes all art needs to be hung.
Sixty percent of the artwork that Sheridan took to Casper won, yet art teacher Jeff Poulsen wishes more kids were interested in art.
The exhibit will be on display at the SAGE Exhibit Gallery located in the Sheridan College Main Street building on Main through May 22nd.
