Bradford Brinton Memorial & Museum reopened at 1:30 pm today after a windstorm knocked down a power line and started a brush-fire between the main museum complex and a horse barn on Friday afternoon. Power to the museum was lost until MDU made repairs so the museum could open today.

Museum Director Ken Schuster and museum employees contained the small fire until Big Horn Volunteer Fire Department personnel arrived shortly after. The fire, that started just after 4 pm, was contained in under an hour, Schuster said. It did not reach the barn and was contained to only brush and grass.

Schuster said they will still have the scheduled artist reception for Mary Ann Kline from 5 to 7 pm tonight at the museum.
