Buffalo Police Sgt. Garth Nicholas, filling in for Chief Jason Carder, gave the Buffalo City Council reports concerning tobacco compliance checks that were recently done county-wide.
He told the council how the checks went.
Nicholas also said there will be alcohol compliance checks performed this month in the city and county as well, but no firm dates were set prior to his report.
Councilman Bill Hawley commented on Nicholas' monthly report, saying seven particular calls stood out to him from the 839 into the dispatch center during the month of May.
Also reported by Nicholas was 52 Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) inspections that were performed by the PD and Sheriff's Office, which is higher than it has been recently. “It's steady,” he said.
