The annual kickoff event to Sheridan WYO Rodeo week is heading back to its roots. Sheridan Media's Ron Richter explains.

After trying several different locations the last couple of years, the Sheridan WYO Rodeo Board has moved this year's boot kick-off back to the friendly confines of Kendrick Park in Sheridan. Chair of the boot kick-off, Linda St. Clair says it was time to bring the event back to the park.

One of the reasons the Rodeo Board tried a few different locations was the parking issue at Kendrick Park. St. Clair says that they have teamed up with the Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce to help alleviate that problem.

St. Clair says that since the Budweiser Clydesdales will be taking part in this year's Rodeo, they'll have one of them on hand during the boot kick-off.

The boot kick-off will take place next Tuesday, July 9 in Kendrick Park. Sign-ups will start at 4 pm with the competition set to begin at 5 o’clock.

The trolley shuttle will be running in a continuous cycle to/from three remote parking areas, from 3:30-7:30 pm:

Kendrick Park
Sheridan Junior High School parking lot
Whitney Commons (on Alger St. side across from library)
Senior Center parking lot
