Wyoming native and best selling author C.J. Box was in town Thursday for a book signing of his newest Joe Pickett novel “Stone Cold” and Sheridan Media's Judy Hagerott stopped by and brings us this story.
Walking through the back door of Sheridan Stationary, I was a bit surprised when I saw this long line of people waiting to get an autographed copy of C.J. Box's newest novel “Stone Cold.”
Not many middle of the week events in Sheridan draw this kind of crowd. I mean, the line ran from the back of the store all the way out to Main Street.
Sheridan Stationary owner Robby Smith enjoys having book signings, but a book signing like this, well it helps business.
Now, I'll admit, I haven't read any of C.J.'s books, but looking at the size of this crowd, they got to be pretty good. But, I wasn't the only one that hasn't read any of his novels either. Jenna Ewing was there buying one for her husband.
Kids to put a damper on things sometimes.
Denice Rollins was standing in line for her autographed copy to give as a birthday present for her friend Rosie. She hasn't read any of C.J. Box's books either. But taking a look at the author, she just might change her mind.
Now, I didn't get a chance to talk with C.J. Looking at that line and the people looking back at me as if to say, “Just try it,” there was no way I was going to interrupt for a few words with C.J. It might have been new material for his next book. By the looks of it, that crowd might have just taken me out front for a modern-day hangin' for slowing down the line.
