Researchers and writers of a book detailing the history of downtown Sheridan signed copies Thursday afternoon in the lobby of the First Interstate Bank on Main Street.
The book is titled “Now and Then: Photographic History in Honor of the 125th Anniversary of Sheridan County.”
Signers included local historian Judy Slack, who is the director of the Sheridan Library's Wyoming Room. She is the one who compiled data and directed preparation of the book. Two panoramic prints of historic Sheridan photos were for sale during the event.
Both the books and prints cost $40. Slack said proceeds from the sales would be used for archival work in the Wyoming Room's collection.
Other participants in the signing were Anita Nichols, who took the photographs, and writer/researchers Stan Woinoski, Kevin Knatt, Michael Dykehorst and Kara Bacon. The book gives detailed information on the history of each address in Sheridan's historic downtown area.
