The Sheridan County Fair Association Trustees approved $85,000 in improvements to the Exhibit Hall parking lot last night, including rotomilling, curb and gutter and drainage.
Facilities Manager Jamie Ringley said he hopes to advertise for bids for the project before Thanksgiving, and have the project completed as quickly as possible.
In his report to trustees, during the meeting, the fairgrounds manager showed photos of the new floor in the fairgrounds pavilion. Work was done by fairgrounds staff at a cost in materials of around $1,800.
Ringley said dates have been established for the 2014 Sheridan County Fair. The event will be July 31 through Aug. 4, and opening night entertainment will be match bronc riding via the Rocky Mountain Bronc Rider Association.
He said the open class book for next year's fair has been reorganized and configured, and is ready to go to the printers. He told trustees his goal is to increase open class participation as much as possible.
Board Chairman Steve Eliason said new officers will be elected in January, and he plans to step down from the chairman's position, which he has held for three or four years.
