The Buffalo Fire Department responded to a report of a vehicle fire Wednesday night.

Most of Buffalo heard what sounded like gunshots going off around town Wednesday night, but according to Buffalo Fire Chief Gomer Gammon, hot brakes and blown tires were the culprit.
About 9:15 Wednesday night, a semi-tractor/trailer was approaching the corner of Fort and Main Streets after coming down Highway 16.
Apparently his brakes were super-heated which led to a fire and a number of tires blowing out.
Gammon explains further.
Although the driver was able to put the small fire out quickly, Gammon explained the fire department closed a section of Main Street as a precaution, as more tires were in danger of blowing out from the heat.
A section of Main Street from Kum-N-Go to the Big Horn Motel was closed for about an hour, and traffic was detoured around the closure.
