United Blood Services is experiencing a shortage. Sheridan Media's Ron Richter has the details.
United Blood Services is sponsoring two upcoming blood drives in Sheridan County next week. The Tongue River Valley Community Blood Drive will be Tuesday, July 29, from 2 to 6:30, at the Tongue River Valley Community Center in Ranchester. There will also be a drive Wednesday, July 30, at the Best Western Sheridan Center from 1 o'clock to 5:30.
UBS Donor Recruitment Specialist Mike Frigon says that there is a critical need for O negative, A negative, B negative and O positive blood types.
Frigon said that potential donors must be at least 16 years of age, weigh at least 110 pounds, be in good health, and have picture identification. He stressed how important it is to give blood, especially now with the shortage that they are experiencing.
Walk-ins to either blood drive are welcome, however, Frigon said that appointments are recommended and will be honored first. To make an appointment, call 1-800-365-4450, or to schedule online, click here.
