United Blood Services will be in Buffalo next week for another blood drive. Mike Frigon, Senior Donor Recruitment Representative for UBS, said the Buffalo community has always been a big contributor to the blood drives.
Frigon said the biggest demand is for type O-negative, because in emergency situations, that type can be given to anyone, so it usually goes fast. All other blood types are also needed, he said.
Those that wish to donate blood can make an appointment by logging on to www.bloodhero.com and using the sponsor code buffalo, or by calling UBS at 800-365-4450.
Walk-ins are also welcome. You must be at least 16 years of age, have written parental permission if 16 or 17, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good physical health. Please bring picture ID.
The blood drive will be at the Johnson County Fairgrounds' Community Building from 1 to 6 pm Tuesday, July 5th.
UBS is a non-profit based in Billings, MT and is the only blood supplier for 47 total hospitals in the region, all of the hospitals in Wyoming and half of the hospitals in Montana.
