The Bureau of Land Management's Buffalo Field Office is announcing upcoming public meetings on their draft resource management plan (RMP) and the supporting environmental impact statement (EIS.
The meetings are scheduled throughout the month of August and will be held in Sheridan, Gillette, Kaycee and Buffalo, and will give the public the opportunity to review and comment on the drat RMP/EIS.
The first meeting will be Monday, August 5th in Buffalo at Johnson County Library, from 3:30 to 7pm.
The second meeting will be at the Campbell County Library in Gillette Tuesday, August 6th from 3:30 to 7pm.
Sheridan's meeting will be at the Sheridan County Library Monday, August 19th from 3:30 to 7pm and the final meeting will be in Kaycee Tuesday, August 20th at the Kaycee Community Library from 3:30 to 7pm.
Meetings will be an open house format with a formal presentation at 4pm that will be repeated at 6pm.
BLM resource specialists will be available to answer questions and speak with the public.
To ensure that comments will be considered, the BLM must receive written comments on the Draft RMP/EIS by Sept. 26; 90 days following the Environmental Protection Agency’s June 28 Federal Register Notice of Availability (NOA) of the Buffalo Draft RMP.
