The Sheridan-based Black Tooth Brewing Company has only been open since November of 2010 but has already received accolades for their beers at national and international competitions. Co-founder of the company Tim Barnes describes the brewery's latest award.
The annual Great American Beer Festival is only open to American competitors and Barnes said it is the largest beer competition in the world. Black Tooth squared off against almost 700 other breweries this year and walked away with a gold medal for its wheat ale with hints of citrus and tropical fruit.
Black Tooth Brewing's Wagon Box Wheat also won a gold medal at an international beer competition, the World Beer Cup, in May.
Barnes shared some secrets to the company's success.
Previous wins for the local brewery include bronze, silver and gold medals at this year's U.S. Open Beer Competition. There, the brewery placed fifth out of a total of more than 400 competitors.
